Your Child’s Day with us.

As you can Imagine, no single day at Hanahoe’s childcare is ever the same. We have 20 mini yet wild imaginations to keep things interesting. It is our aim to ensure each child’s individual qualities, strengths and interests are accommodated for while allowing them to learn through:

  • Participation in decision making.

  • Sharing their opinions and diverse experiences.

  • A responsive and supportive social environment.

  • Multi-sensory experiences.

  • Active participation in experiences that engage them emotionally, physically, cognitively and socially.

  • Positive role models within the staff team.

We offer a wide range of learning opportunities that have been guided by the Principle of Síolta and the curriculum framework Aistear to meet each child’s individual stage of development (See below).

At Hanahoe’s, we recognise how important high quality early childhood experiences can be in a child’s life. Our play based curriculum aims to encourage active learning, problem solving, effective communication, creativity and autonomy. Using a wide range of activities that have been guided by the Principle of Síolta and the curriculum framework Aistear, we aim to provide suitable learning opportunities to meet each child’s individual stage of development.

Aistear is Ireland’s curriculum framework for children from birth to six years. It is designed to work with the great variety of curriculum materials currently in use in early childhood settings. Using the broad learning goals of Aistear, we will adapt our curriculum to make learning even more enjoyable and rewarding for the children attending our service.

Aistear is based on 12 Principles of early learning and development which can be presented in the following three groups:
